Resources for Signing Events

Resources for book signing events:

  1. Mysterious Galaxy Books: 7051 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., Suite #302, San Diego, CA 92111 - Phone #: 858-268-4747. This bookseller holds many book signing events throughout the year. They specialize in fantasy, horror, sci-fi, and suspense books, but have more to offer. I have gone to many of their book signings and had a lot of fun.
  2. San Diego Comic Con International: July 24-28, 2008. This is a massive event and you never know which authors are going to show up, but I have always been able to find about 6-12 authors. Many sign at their publishers booth, some sign at independent booths and you may find a few authors upstairs in the autograph section. You have to look at the daily events schedule for event additions and changes. If you want to go to this grand event I also recommend that you buy your admission online, months in advance. They had sold out to capacity a couple of days in 2007, and as a result will not offer admission at the door this year. I should mention, at this time, 4-day memberships are sold out. One day memberships are still offered. Are you interested in more than books? I usually find many other autographs at this event.
  3. Upcoming Celebrity Book Signings & Events: This is a list of celebrity book signings and appearances throughout the country maintained by a Celebrity Signings group on Yahoo.

Resources of Other Celeberty Signing Events:

  1. California Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, Comic, Anime and Gaming Conventions: This is a good source for finding a conventions in california. I found that going to conventions usually makes it possible to find several celeberty autographs. Depending on the type and size of convention you may collect many autographs. I would usually budget for each event. Each event may have their own autograph policy so check it out carefully. Most actors and actresses charge $20.00 per studio photo signed. They may limit the number items that you bring for them to sign or may charge you for each item.
